Purchase of one (1) General-Purpose Laboratory Vacuum Vessel

NRC’s Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Center performs cryogenic research to support its astronomical instrumentation program. To support the development of cryogenic instrumentation, it is beneficial to test mechanisms at cryogenic temperatures to verify their performance and lifetime. To enable this testing, NRC is building a test cryostat to allow custom and commercial cryogenic mechanisms to be tested thoroughly prior to use in an instrument. This vacuum vessel will be integrated with a cryocooler, vacuum pump, and other custom parts to create this new cryogenic testing capability.
